A live site for African women at home and in the diaspora, with free tools for fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting, plus six paid programs and an AI system for making content and videos.
What It Is
Wholesome Girlies is a home for women at every stage of life. It starts around the journey into motherhood, one of the most searched and least supported stretches of a woman's life, and grows out from there into wellness, confidence, hormones, and relationships. There are six paid programs, each built for a different stage of that journey, plus a growing set of free tools and a private community.
Why I Built It
Over the years, I've learned more about the health problems women face simply because they have reproductive systems. It can be hard to get care made for women in Nigeria, where there are too few doctors who specialize in pregnancy and women's health, and even basic healthcare can be difficult to get. I built Wholesome Girlies to help in the small way I can.
What It Does
Women can start with the free tools, join the community, or buy one of the six programs. The site checks where you are and shows the right price: naira in Africa and dollars in the diaspora. The free tools keep growing too. In one update, the Baby Name Explorer went from 30 names to 134 and gained a filter by origin. If you've already bought something, the site remembers and takes you to your own dashboard.
What It Taught Me
This is where I learned to use AI to make content from start to finish. I built a Copy Engine, which is a ChatGPT project that writes ad ideas and full ads. I also built a Design Engine, which is a Claude project that turns the copy into a plan for every slide. A Claude Code skill then turns that plan into image files that are ready to post. I use this system for static images, talking-head videos, AI-made videos, and carousels. Getting the AI videos and images to look good enough for a real ad took a lot of trial and error with my own money. I also learned from a pricing bug. My first version sometimes showed a buyer outside Africa the price in naira. It trusted one location check, so I rebuilt it to require two separate checks to agree. I found that fix by sending real people to the site and watching what broke.
