Hello Upbound
Kubernetes won the orchestration layer. Terraform won infrastructure-as-code. Nothing has won fleet-level AI inference management yet, and closing that gap is the actual job here. Here's how I'd think about it, and what I bring that's real.
James Praise · Marketing and GTM Operator
Modelplane launched in the open in June 2026, and Upbound has already run this exact transition once, Crossplane to Upbound Platform v3. That's the strongest signal I've seen here: whoever takes this on is executing a proven process a second time, faster, across three buyer segments (neoclouds, regulated enterprises, AI-native teams switching off hosted APIs) who each need a different argument for the same product.
I wouldn't start by writing positioning. I'd start by listening. Shadow five or more enterprise sales calls to hear how engineers describe the inference problem in their own words, not the words on the website. Interview ten or more Crossplane community members already running inference workloads, so I know who's already feeling fleet-level pain and who hasn't hit it yet. Read everything already written on the Crossplane to Platform v3 transition, because you've already solved half this problem once and I'd rather learn from that than repeat the discovery.
Only after that would I draft the first version of the commercial Modelplane positioning, as a working document shared with product and engineering, not a public launch. Naming the category is a claim you have to be able to defend in an analyst briefing, so it has to survive contact with your own team first.
I write for and sell to technical buyers without being the technical person in the room. At Cecure Intelligence, I ran a GTM engine that reached 1,646 MQLs across 5 countries for a cybersecurity product sold to security and compliance teams. I have built 34 open-source Marketing Agent Skills which I actively maintain, production infrastructure I ship and support myself. I also built a Prospect & Outbound Engine, a scraping and enrichment pipeline I run myself at real scale, the same instinct to build infrastructure rather than just market it.
If this is the right problem for you, I'd like to talk about it directly.
