Hello OnTheGoSystems

WPML owns multilingual WordPress. More of its next buyers will ask an AI assistant which plugin to pick.

This role pairs content with SEO and generative engine optimization and expects AI agents in the daily work. Here's how I'd build that function, and the proof I've built content systems like it before.

The Pitch: Where I'd Start

WPML has served multilingual WordPress since 2007 and runs on 1.5 million sites, while simpler competitors like Weglot and TranslatePress sell easy setup. This role names generative engine optimization next to SEO, and that matters because more buyers now ask ChatGPT or Perplexity which multilingual plugin to use before they reach a search results page. I haven't found a marketing or content lead on the public team page, so I'd plan to build the function as much as inherit one.

I'd start by asking the real buyer questions (“best multilingual plugin for WordPress,” “WPML vs Weglot,” “how to translate a WooCommerce store”) across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews, and documenting what gets cited. Next comes an audit of existing content against search and AI visibility. The content that wins agencies and developers is technical depth made readable: comparison pages, integration guides and WooCommerce walkthroughs, produced through a repeatable AI-assisted workflow with human review before anything publishes.

The Proof

At Distrobird, I built an inbound content engine from zero and managed five writers and two editors. We ranked for 3,000+ competitive keywords and reached 500K monthly search impressions within 90 days.

At Reform, I built an AI-assisted SEO engine that scaled output to 100 articles a month, a 100x jump in content velocity, and lifted non-branded organic traffic 48%. Competitor comparison pages I built there brought in 19% more decision-stage leads.

I also run the MIA Newsletter, 5,000+ subscribers at a 47% average open rate, on a four-phase AI content workflow I built with review gates. My SEO work runs on Ahrefs, Semrush and the DataForSEO API, and I've built 81 Claude Code skills, 34 of them public.
