Hello Control Seat

Most of the public record describes a platform that runs factories. Your website sells predictive maintenance.

I wrote a positioning teardown for Control Seat. It sets out where your Y Combinator listing, the Founderland coverage, your LinkedIn page and your website describe the company differently, which description I would lead with for a plant buyer, and a homepage line to test.

The Teardown

I read your Y Combinator listing, the September 19 Founderland article, your LinkedIn page, your X profile and every page in your website's sitemap. Most of them describe a platform that runs factories. Your website sells predictive maintenance. Read the full teardown →

Narrowing to predictive maintenance may be the right call. Your mission page says the work starts with equipment health, and your terms say the software reads plant data and never writes to your controls. A cautious plant wants to hear that. The rest of the public record has not caught up. A buyer who finds you through the coverage and then opens the website has to guess which company they are looking at.

What I'd Lead With

Keep your homepage headline. It already says what happens: catch equipment problems before they stop production. Underneath it, I would add one line that names FactoryOS as the platform predictive maintenance belongs to, and test that against the page as it is today, measured in demo bookings per visitor. One question decides the rest, and only you can answer it. If the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and virtual programmable logic controller (PLC) modules are live, your website undersells three of your four modules. If they are paused, your Y Combinator listing, LinkedIn page and X profile are the ones to change. Either answer is fine. Leaving both up at once is the problem.

Who Wrote This

I do positioning, messaging and go-to-market for product-led companies. At Bujeti (YC W23) I built the positioning and the demand engine that produced 1,331 marketing qualified leads in six months. At Hank Robotics I took a pre-commercial robotics company from no marketing to 2,064% organic session growth in nine weeks. At Reform, the AI-assisted SEO engine I built scaled content velocity 100x and lifted non-branded organic traffic 48%.

I run Marketing In Action, and I build my own go-to-market tooling, including the outbound engine and Marketing Agent Skills, the Claude Code skills I run this work on.
